This detailed koala bear figurine (small statuette) with baby koala is made of Australian pewter in Tasmania.
It's a nice piece of art and a great long remembered gift (it's just too good to be thrown in a box or kept away)

The pedestal is covered with eucalyptus leaves. Its velvet padding makes the statuette scratch-safe on delicate surface, so it's ideal paper weight, or desk / shelf decoration. Cast in text on a pedestal features koala facts:
"Koala
The koala is a tree dwelling marsupial which spends most of the time eating and sleeping high up in the eucalyptus forests. The females bare young ones every two years with the young Koalas staying with their mother for a further two years."
